AEREON Expands in Australia with New Operations Facility in Melbourne

December 2, 2014

AEREON, a single-source supplier of environmentally-compliant gas and vapor combustion, handling and recovery equipment, today announced the opening of a nearly 13,000 square foot operations facility in Melbourne, Australia. The parent company of Flare Industries and Jordan Technologies, which operates in 45 countries worldwide, is expanding to develop and deliver products that meet Australian code requirements.

The new Australian facility creates flares, thermal oxidizers and gas compression units for the upstream market, as well as vapour recovery units for the upstream and downstream oil and gas industries. Service, project and sales capabilities are available, and local fabrication and stocking will better improve the customer experience.

“AEREON’s global expansion strategy is centered around serving our customers, and with the unique product requirements in Australia, a new facility was needed to meet demand,” said Michael Hainsworth, president and chief executive officer of AEREON. “Although we are growing rapidly, this facility allows us to offer customers the personal touch they have become accustomed to, regardless of the size of the job.”

AEREON’s Melbourne facility will also be linked to the company’s Centers of Excellence for combustion and vapour recovery in Austin, Texas and Louisville, Kentucky respectively, which serve as the international hub to provide project knowledge and leadership. The Australian team will localize product offerings while maintaining consistency and quality.

The founding of AEREON, which is headquartered in Austin, Texas, was a result of Flare’s acquisition of Jordan in Sept. 2012. AEREON is the fastest growing gas and vapour handling company in the world with 325 employees worldwide and additional offices in the U.S., Canada, U.K., United Arab Emirates, Italy and South Korea.

AEREON, headquartered in Austin, TX, is a global leader in combustion, vapour recovery, and pollution-control technologies services and equipment. AEREON was formed in 2012 when Flare Industries, LLC acquired Jordan Technologies. Under the two brands, AEREON offers the broadest product line of flare systems, enclosed combustion systems, ignition systems and vapour recovery units, and is the largest service company for VRUs in the world. AEREON operates in 45 countries around the world. For more information, visit
